We thought the Pillarbox Cottage was excellent value for money with its fully fitted kitchen and washing machine, and the room had plenty of storage options. The location was great for exploring nearby attractions, and the owner, Sarah, was helpful and left us to enjoy our stay.
The breakfast option could be improved by providing more variety.

Convenient parking and location for our activities
Cleanliness of the cottage was impressive. the fully fitted kitchen, including a washing machine, made it easy to clean before leaving
The lack of a shower and the restricted height over the bath made it difficult to use. The curtains in the bedroom were not thick enough to block out the lights from next door.

I had a fabulous stay at a superb little cottage in Matlock. The cleanliness of the cottage was really impressive. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfy and the cleanliness was excellent. Plus, I didn't have to worry about car parking as it was conveniently provided. The location of the cottage was perfect, just a gentle 5-minute stroll to Matlock centre with its charming shops and pubs. Sarah, the host, was incredibly helpful from the moment I booked until I left. If I ever come back to Matlock, I would definitely choose to stay at this cottage again.
Even though I enjoyed my stay, it would have been nice to meet the host, Sarah. It would also have been helpful if the directions to the accommodation were stated on the website, as it took some effort to find the place.

My recent stay at Pillarbox Cottage was absolutely delightful. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The fully fitted kitchen, including a washing machine, was a convenient and practical feature. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. I also appreciated the ensuite bathroom with a bath and a second toilet downstairs.
Although there were a couple of drawbacks, such as the lack of a shower and the narrow spiral staircase, I found ways to work around them and they did not significantly impact my overall experience. The value for money was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying at Pillarbox Cottage again in the future.

We had a great long weekend away from the city at this cozy cottage. The size of the cottage was perfect and it had everything we needed for our stay. There were plenty of walking routes and maps available which helped us plan our outdoor activities. The central location was convenient, with shops just a short walk away. Plus, the cottage had a lovely stock of tea and other basic supplies that came in handy.
One small issue we had was that the bathroom got quite hot when both of us took hot baths. It would have been nice to have a window or a ventilation system to help with this.

The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including cooking facilities and utensils. The central location was a plus, with shops and the train station within walking distance. The area also offered plenty of walking routes and beautiful scenery to explore.
One downside was the lack of a showerhead in the bathroom. This made it difficult, especially for someone with long hair, to properly wash and feel refreshed.

The cottage was well-equipped with Peak District magazines, walking routes, and maps, providing plenty of inspiration for our stay. Its central location, just a short walk from shops and the train station, was convenient. We enjoyed the lovely walks in the area, and the steam train ride was a highlight. a visit to nearby Bakewell for their famous pudding was a must.
The bathroom could benefit from a window or better ventilation as it got quite hot. It would also be useful to have blankets for cozy evenings.

Loved the cozy and quaint atmosphere of the cottage, it was the perfect retreat for our New Year getaway. the cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed, from kitchen amenities to tourist information leaflets. the little touches, like the provided bubbles for the bath and a window connecting the bedroom and kitchen, added a unique and enjoyable experience. the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. Plus, the location was fantastic, with beautiful and peaceful surroundings just a short drive from town.
The Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable, which made streaming programs upstairs difficult. there were some disruptions due to workmen drilling at a nearby property, which disrupted the tranquility.
